Thank you for the link, Kevin. I can see from it that, like myself, you attribute our problem to a behavioral problem. That has been an underlying theme of my writing from day one, when I merely wrote an article about picking up trash on a short hike in the Adirondacks in Lake George, a town that is completely commercial, and has nothing to do with connecting to nature. As one goes north into the mountains, that improves, but the fact is the lack of understanding for the environment goes right from the bottom, the drunk fool on his boat on Lake George, to Jeff Bezos on his mega-yacht. We're seeing billionaires building bunkers now. That's a better measure of the reality of our situation than these too late to the party IPCC reports.

This article was far more sarcastic than most, I write. It appears I lost a few subscribers. The truth is tough to handle, and most would rather believe the greenwashing. I can't say I blame them, it's just not who I am. I appreciate you reading and sharing.

Nice piece, Geoffrey!

The thing most difficult to understand is that there *will be no future* for anyone’s grandchildren and beyond. None worth thinking about, anyway. And most of the “parties” engaged in the COP subterfuge do understand that. So...why???

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Writing about such a disturbing subject, is like even the right word? The future is questionable for our even children, let alone grandchildren. I've been researching and writing about the #ClimateEmergency for two years now and the inaction, bogus technological solutions and speed of ice melt is stunning the science community. As to why, I believe it is greed and a belief among the ultra wealthy that they are better than we are. I think it's possible they even desire a drastic population reduction. It would simplify managing us, and allow them to preserve the dwindling resources of the planet. How many of us do they really need to build their mega-yachts? I wrote about that possibility about a year ago here. https://geoffreydeihl.substack.com/p/circumstantial-evidence

Once everyone grasps that the IPCC is a corporate construct, everything adds up.

We've been gamed to the edge of extinction.

And is why Greta opted out of the cop-out series. She doesn’t suffer fools.

Aw. She doesn't feel the glowing optimism of my article? Did you know she got arrested again, yesterday? https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/oct/17/greta-thunberg-arrested-at-london-oil-summit-protest

Difficult to laugh when dark humor is true.

Agreed, although I laughed a lot while writing it. We live in a theater of absurdity. The sarcasm relieved some of my stress, at least temporarily. I hope it didn't transfer to you. If the world was a nicer place, I would be able to write nicer things. That would be my preference.
