I'm all for protests and more radical action as well, but I'm seeing virtually no appetite for it in the states. I'm not even sure what the level of awareness here is in just how dire the situation is. I occasionally try to check the pulse with conversations here and there in daily life, and more times than not walk away dismayed with the level of ignorance. Thank you for your encouragement, it's appreciated.

It looks like a reasonable idea to me, that fits into the degrowth model. My only question is should there be more scaling in that 20 percent value? It's well known that the top one percent consume an absurd amount of energy. I have bookmarked a number of articles that talk about this. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/07/world/billionaires-greenhouse-gases-climate-intl/index.html

Oh, there should absolutely be more scaling than 20%. I think billionares and millionares should be forced to reduce extremely more (at least 50%) of their energy consumption. This including their companies, of course. I think the 20% value would be more useful to those in society who although aren't billionares and millionares, still earn a fricking lot and consume the amount their status allow (think judges, doctors, some types of lawyers, some types of engineers). All this in order to allow those in the "bottom of the food chain" to increase their energy consumption.
