Whole Earth Ponzi Scheme
Trump's “GENIUS” bill steps on the collapse accelerator.

The climate emergency and industrial agricultural practices threaten us with another Dust Bowl event. Global warming currently adds seven percent more moisture to the atmosphere for every 1°C of temperature rise. That moisture content will increase as the planet heats up. It doesn’t just come from evaporating oceans and lakes. It pulls from increasingly dried out soil. Dried out soil loses its ability to sequester CO2, feeding the cycle. Poor tilling practices which could be fixed with regenerative techniques exacerbate this. The nutrient rich soil we depend on simply blows and washes away.
We all know about Ponzi schemes. It’s a fraud that pays early investors with money taken from later investors to pay the early ones. As long new investors are added and don’t demand full repayment, the illusion of a legitimate business can be maintained without creating any real wealth. When the flow of money slows (runs out of victims) or full returns are demanded, the scheme implodes with the highest scoundrels on the pyramid running off with the bags of cash, unless they’re caught. Everyone else gets bilked.
The term Ponzi scheme is a remembrance of a scoundrel, Charles Ponzi. The specifics of his fraud don’t matter to this article, but quickly, he was a charismatic huckster who had already spent three years in prison for forging checks when in 1920 he started a business he called the “Securities Exchange Company.” Ponzi promised investors returns of up to 50 percent in just 45 days and attracted thousands of them. Word spread and the rapid growth of Ponzi’s scheme was astonishing. At the height of the scam he was making off with $250,000 a day, and his personal wealth was over $15 million, about $241 million today.
A quick search easily reveals numerous Ponzi schemes. The largest in my lifetime is Bernie Madoff’s deception which thrived for 17 years and defrauded thousands of investors of an astonishing $65 billion. Madoff died in a prison hospital at age 82 in 2021, while serving a 150-year sentence for money laundering, securities fraud, and several other felonies, and deservedly so.
Speaking of charismatic hucksters (if stupidity can be considered charismatic) this past January 17 Trump announced his meme coin, the $TRUMP three days before his inauguration. With all due respect to my female readers, should we call it a misogynist term, the $STRUMPET? Is Trump not a whore? After its launch the meme soared in value 300 percent overnight, and in two days became the nineteenth most valuable cryptocurrency in the world with a trade value of $13 billion. The New York Times reported Trump and affiliates controlled 800 million tokens hypothetically worth an estimated net worth of $63.8 billion, potentially making Trump one of the richest people in the world.
A March 2025, a Financial Times analysis found that the crypto project netted at least $350 million ($314 million from token sales and $36 million from fees). However, by July 2025, New York magazine reported that the Commander and Thief’s holdings in the coin were only worth about $93 million.
Even the fine print on Donald Trump’s meme coin warned buyers back in January that $TRUMP was “not intended to be … an investment opportunity.” But that didn’t stop his supporters from rushing in to buy loads of this coin with no inherent value, earning the president and his team close to $100 million in trading fees in just a couple of weeks.
A New York Times analysis concluded that 813,294 investments lost $2 billion by trading the coin while the president's company and partners profited about $100 million from trading fees. Fortune magazine similarly concluded, "Less than three weeks after its release, President Donald Trump's meme coin has produced more losers than winners. For every dollar in trading fees the Trump crypto creators raked in, investors lost $20."
The only thing dumber than Trump are the chuckleheads who go over the cliff for a dolt with an uncanny ability to bankrupt casinos.
A fool and his money…
The only wealth we have is this planet. Everything else is made up, an invention to extract every resource of the Earth without paying it back, designed to create winners and losers. You can’t have winners without losers on a finite world, and you can’t have a viable planet to live on with endless extraction and pollution.
To think otherwise is madness. Try eating a gold bar when agriculture fails. We have turned the entire Earth into a Ponzi scheme. Even the deluded, narcissistic billionaire class will find out.
The stupid “GENIUS” bill enablers
Trump is even marginal as a criminal. His superpower is in being a psychotic bully backed by weak, unprincipled or outright malevolent people. There is no intelligence, there is no strategy, just unhinged lashing out in endless acts of self-service. This unfortunate congealed mass of marginally humanoid cells accused Obama of being a “sedationist” a few days ago in an effort to distract from the Epstein list. Obviously, typically illiterate Trump, meant seditionist, not “sedationist” which is not even a word, fucking dipshit. However, even 34-count convict and sexual assaulter Trump successfully sued by E. Jean Carroll for $88 million knows twiddling 12-year-old little girls is not good political play.
This unhinged spewer of endless lies needs enablers to function, and on July 17 they were in his corner moving the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act through the House after passing the Senate last month. The irony of the acronym is nearly endless, except the planet is finite.
Passage in the Senate included 18 Democrats. Passage in the House included 102 Democrats. Trump signed the bill July 18, and doubtless the Trump family’s World Liberty Financial which has issued stablecoin USD1 pegged to the dollar is just creaming themselves. Sorry for the descriptive, it just fits.
I have said numerous times, climate change is not political. It’s a physically proven scientific reality made political by the worst society has to offer — the billionaires, their political lackeys dividing us, and the under educated victims vulnerable to our corrupt media, both traditional and social. As much as I berate Trump, he is a product of the system, and sorry, a product of our participation. I know as a longtime liberal Democrat I was fooled. Plunging into the particulars of climate change four years ago has been an education in reality, even if my previous suspicions were deep. We have lived under the illusory opiate of oil for an incredibly short time, and it has destroyed community, reverence for the Earth, our spiritual and physical well-being and possibly a future. It has been akin to drug addicted madness.
The chuckleheads live on both sides of the aisle. Lobby gravy train money rules. AIPAC, promoting genocide in Gaza and Big Oil are sending us to our collective graves regardless of party. All one has to do is follow the money to see the smoking guns. Look up the money on OpenSecrets.org for as long as it’s available. Unlike politicians, money doesn’t lie.
We now live in a country where masked “agents” abduct legal citizens without charges or due process. Some of them have been flown to infamous CECOT in El Salvador where they are tortured. Here, the prison industry licks its chops. Alligator Alcatraz has spawned an unforgivable merchandise industry, even on Etsy. It’s all grotesque.
“Liberal” Democrat Hakeem Jeffries was among the House signers of the GENIUS bill. He received a whopping $866,425 from AIPAC from 2023-2024, with BlackRock, heavy investors in oil, gas and coal coming in a distant second. Adam Schiff whose words I often related to took $311,633 from AIPAC 2023-2024. Feeling the love?
Now I know (for quite some time) I was getting gaslit. How are you feeling?
Our wealth is the planet which our treatment of is the ultimate and last Ponzi scheme. The GENIUS bill is not just another Ponzi scheme, but an assault by the government, not just some dweeb named Charles Ponzi. It’s designed to send the stupids into a frenzy, both the wealthy, and some of us who are just trying to hang on. Whatever the bitcoin, it’s all made up, a hallucination of server warehouses burning oil, chugging water, and ultimately murdering people. The perps are cleverly dispersed, but some waltzing in plain sight. Why would you give your money to a Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg? Your money is the lifeblood of these vampires. Don’t just boycott, write them off. Talk to your neighbors. Organize. Strike. Do you feel represented? Screw up your courage. Stop paying your taxes to a death machine.
Scary? Yeah. How do you think I feel writing these words? Speaking truth to power has never been more important. Not taking action is an unimaginably horrible result. Taking action gives us a chance. It’s not for someone else to do. It’s for you to do. That is how every right, always under attack is won and protected.

All I could think about when I heard this was how it's another sign of developing Collapse. The Elites have created a "stateless" global currency that allows them to effortlessly move their money in and out of countries without oversight or regulation.
We are getting so smart. All the ways we were fooled are crumbling. And it’s sizzling enough now that attention has to be paid, not by choice but by circumstances.
After enjoying your wordsmithy tripping in the bowels of reality – well, most of it -- one reaction is now what? Whatever the story, we are where we are.
How about looking ahead, open to what appears, as we press on our unthinkable situation? Like this essay appeared, and I’m writing a comment. Being eager and open for now, I think, is the advice to give. Be informed and ready, in a pounce mentality.
That people don’t know the threat is a different matter. It’s a good issue. How to teach that? Not to MAGA types, but to people who just haven’t been paying attention.
